My Great Escape Plan: The 10,000 Print Giveaway

Seeking Community Partners: My Great Escape Plan

Hey, if you’re reading this, you likely got an email from me and you’re wondering what this whole “Free Art” thing is about. I can assume you, it’s all real, if a bit unconventional.

Over the course of 2025, I created over 10,000 individual prints — relief prints, linocuts, woodcuts, etc. This was all part of a grand personal project to completely replace my unhealthy social media and “doom-scrolling” habits with creative output. (My wife would probably have preferred that I take up jogging or yoga or something, but that’s another story.)

I wasn’t sure how much work I could do, so at first my goal was much more modest. 500 prints. Then 1,000. Then 2,500. Then at some point I actually figured out how to streamline my process and now I’ve got more prints than any one person should ever have.

From the start, I knew this would be a community project — to prove all the work and effort was real, I would need to give it all away, all 10,000 prints, completely free. And now, the time has come.

My ask: Would it be okay for me to place a small, discreet box in your space labeled “Free Art”?

The box would contain anywhere from 200-600 prints, ranging in size from 3×5 to 8×10. Each print is safely individually sealed in a cellophane sleeve with a short insert explaining the project.

You wouldn’t need to do anything to participate — the effort on your end is essentially zero — you simply host the box.

Of course, you are welcome to mention the project on your social media or to your customers if you feel it would attract attention or align with your current promotions.

You are likely wondering what’s in the box. Here are some photos of the work so you can see the style for yourself:
